Taxonomy
Lindsaymys takeuchii was named by Kelly and Whistler (2014). Its type specimen is LACM 126050, a tooth (M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Lindsaymys.

T. S. Kelly and D. P. Whistler 2014Higher crowned than other species (M1 prh/ap = 0.70-0.73, m1 pch/ap = 0.63-0.65); slightly larger than L. sp., cf. L. takeuchii and distinctly larger than L. sp. A and L. sp. B; and further differs from L. sp. B by having M3 slightly less reduced (M3 ap = 63-66% of M2 ap) and m2 with more robust posterior cingulid.
