Crassibole kore was named by Müller and Hahn (2023). Its type specimen is SMF 97235 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Upper Hillershausen, Wuppertal area near Aprath, which is in a Visean carbonate shale/limestone in the Hillershausen Formation of Germany.
