Originally spelled "Proetus Coddonensis Woodward, 1902"

Taxonomy
Proetus coddonensis was named by Woodward (1902). It is the type species of Coombewoodia.

It was recombined as Wagnerispina coddonensis by Owens and Tilsley (1995); it was recombined as Coombewoodia coddonensis by Müller and Hahn (2023).
