Taxonomy
Thigriffides ameuroides was named by Hessler (1965) [= Phillipsia cf. P. vindibonensis Branson & Andrews, in Branson 1938, p. 119 pl. 15 fig. 11a-12b]. Its type specimen is U. Mo. 3611, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sedalia, which is in a Kinderhookian carbonate limestone in the Chouteau Formation of Missouri.
