Taxonomy
Thisbemys brevicrista was named by Ostrander (1986). Its type specimen is KUVP 14233, a partial skull (partial palate with alveolus for RP3, RP4-RM3, and LM2-LM3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hickey Ranch, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
