Taxonomy
Thylacaelurus montanus was named by Russell (1954) [genotype]. Its type locality is Kishenehn Locality E4, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the Kishenehn Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Thylacaelurus.
