Titanoides looki
Taxonomy
Sparactolambda looki was named by Patterson (1939) [genotype]. Its type specimen is FMNH P15520, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sparactolambda Quarry, which is in a Clarkforkian terrestrial horizon in the DeBeque Formation of Colorado. It is the type species of Sparactolambda.
It was synonymized subjectively with Titanoides primaevus by Simons (1960), Gingerich and Childress (1983); it was recombined as Titanoides looki by Gingerich (1996).
