Taxonomy
Eotrigonias rhinocerinus was named by Wood (1927) [genotype]. Its type locality is Lake Fork, which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Uinta Formation of Utah.
It was recombined as Triplopus rhinocerinus by Radinsky (1967), Wilson and Stevens (1986), Hanson (1989), Prothero (1998) and Lofgren et al. (2020).
