Piscocetus sacaco
Taxonomy
Piscocetus sacaco was named by Pilleri and Pilleri (1989) [private fossil collection of Dr. Alejandro Pezzia Assereto]. Its type specimen is APA-05, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sacaco (SAO horizon), which is in a Tortonian/Messinian paralic siltstone in the Pisco Formation of Peru. It is the type species of Piscocetus.
