Aneurophytales was named by Beck (1957) [Kenrick and Crane 1997 rank this as Plesion "Aneurophytales".]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Lignophytia by Kenrick and Crane (1997); to Radiatopses by Kenrick and Crane (1997); and to Aneurophytopsida by Doweld (2001).
