Taxonomy
Dicotylophyllum mercerensis was named by Hickey (1977). It is not extant. Its type specimen is USNM 43239. Its type locality is Goodman Creek Bluffs (USNM 14059), which is in a Clarkforkian channel siltstone in the Golden Valley Formation of North Dakota.
