Syntarsus kayentakatae
Taxonomy
Syntarsus kayentakatae was named by Rowe (1989). Its type specimen is MNA V2623, a partial skeleton, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Rock Head North (MNA 555-3, MCZ 18/78/A), which is in a Sinemurian/Pliensbachian terrestrial sandstone in the Kayenta Formation of Arizona.
It was recombined as Coelophysis kayentakatae by Bristowe and Raath (2004), Rinehart et al. (2007); it was recombined as Megapnosaurus kayentakatae by Irmis (2004), Milner et al. (2006), Smith and Merrill (2006), Spielmann et al. (2007), Jasinski (2011), Tweet et al. (2012), Martínez et al. (2013).
