Megacricetodon bavaricus

Taxonomy
Democricetodon (Megacricetodon) gregarius bavaricus was named by Fahlbusch (1964). Its type specimen is BSP 1951 XXVII 180, a tooth (m1 inf. sin.), and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Megacricetodon bavaricus by Mein and Freudenthal (1971), Lalaï (1986).

Fahlbusch 1964Eine Unterart von Democricetodon (Megacric.) gregarius (Schaub) von geringerer Größe mit folgenden Besonderheiten: Untere Molaren: Vorderknospe des m1 meist breit, nur selten rund oder vorne gefurcht. Außenbucht weniger nach rückwärts gebogen als bei Democricetodon (Megacric.) gregarius gregarius. Obere Molaren: Vorderknospe des M1 weniger tief gefurcht. Innenbucht nur selten leicht nach vorne gebogen. Rückwärtiger Paraconussporn schwächer und kürzer als bei Democricetodon (Megacric.) gregarius gregarius.
