Deinocheirus mirificus

Taxonomy
Deinocheirus mirificus was named by Kielan-Jaworowska (1969) [nomen nudum in this paper.]. Its type specimen is ZPal MgD-I/6 (MPC-D 100/018), a set of limb elements, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altan Ula III, site 2 [PMPE], which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone in the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia. It was considered monophyletic by Currie (2000).
