Taxonomy
Gyrodes (Sohlella) quercus was named by Popenoe et al. (1987) [m. kosnik taxon no: 9657]. Its type specimen is UCLA 59732 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CIT loc. 1007, Oak Run, which is in a Coniacian coastal siliciclastic in the Redding Formation of California.
