Hippuritacea was named by Gray (1848) [m. kosnik taxon no: 6083].

It was assigned to Hippuritoida by Newell (1965), Vokes (1980) and Alencaster and Pantoja-Alor (1996).

Synonyms

Hippuritoidea was named by Gray (1848).

It was replaced with Hippuritacea by Kiessling (2003).
