Pseudosaturniforma was named by Kozur and Mostler (1979) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori-l Tr Nori-m Sepkoski's reference number: 707]. Its type is Pseudosaturniforma latimarginata. It is the type genus of Pseudosaturniformidae.
It was assigned to Pseudosaturniformidae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Nassellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
