Xenophoroidea was named by Troschel (1852) [m. kosnik taxon no: 6170]. It is extant.
It was assigned to Discopoda by Ponder and Warén (1988); to Neotaenioglossa by Squires and Saul (2001); to Hypsogastropoda by Harzhauser (2004); to Littorinimorpha by Beesley (1998), Todd (2001), Jeffery (2003) and Bouchet et al. (2005); and to Latrogastropoda by Bouchet et al. (2017).
