Plesiomeryx cadurcensis

Taxonomy
Plesiomeryx cadurcensis was named by Gervais (1873). Its type specimen is MNHN-QU 1772, a mandible (dext. with p2-m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mouillac, which is in a Rupelian terrestrial phosphorite in the Quercy Phosphorites Formation of France.

J. Hürzeler 1936Disposition of cusps of the maxilla-molars is changing (stage B); diastema very long, in upper toothrow anterior of P4, in lower toothrow infront of P3; upper P3 and P4 and lower P2 and P3 short; upper P2 with a strong, upper P3 with a weak inner cusp. Intermaxilla extends backwards to frontale; nasalia long, slender, squarelike; sickle-like ethmoidalgap (Ethmoidalspalte); Choanas broad; mandible slender.
