Taxonomy
Asthenognathus urretae was named by Schweitzer and Feldmann (2001). Its type specimen is GHUNLPam 16832, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Estancia 25 de Mayo, which is in a Lutetian marine horizon in the Centinela Formation of Argentina.
