Taxonomy
Nannolithax gracilis was named by Kellogg (1931). Its type specimen is USNM 11569, an other (periotic), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sharktooth Hill, which is in a Langhian shoreface siltstone in the Temblor Formation of California. It is the type species of Nannolithax.
