Taxonomy
Piscorhynchus was named by Pilleri and Siber (1989). It is not extant. It was considered monophyletic by Lambert (2011).

It was synonymized subjectively with Piscolithax by Fordyce and de Muizon (2001).

It was assigned to Pontoporiidae by Pilleri and Siber (1989), Cozzuol (1996), McKenna and Bell (1997), Lambert (2011).
