It was assigned to Anchisauridae by Galton (1973), Galton (1976), Galton and Cluver (1976), Anderson and Cruickshank (1978), Attridge et al. (1985) and Battail (1986); to Sauropodomorpha by Benton (1990) and Yates (2003); and to Sauropodomorpha by Upchurch et al. (2007), Smith and Pol (2007), Yates (2010), Apaldetti et al. (2011), Novas et al. (2011), Otero and Pol (2013) and McPhee et al. (2015).
