Taxonomy
Anoplonassa forcipata was named by Cope (1869). Its type specimen is MCZ 8766, a partial skull (rostrum), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Savannah, near, which is in a Pliocene/Pleistocene marine horizon in Georgia. It is the type species of Anoplonassa.
