Albireo whistleri
Taxonomy
Albireo whistleri was named by Barnes (1984) [University of California Riverside
]. Its type specimen is UCR 14589, a skeleton (complete skull & skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kilmer's Discovery Locality, which is in a Messinian marine horizon in the Almejas Formation of Mexico. It is the type species of Albireo.
