Taxonomy
Macrodelphinus kelloggi was named by Wilson (1935). Its type specimen is YPM 13402, a partial skeleton (partial skull and partial skeleton missing periotics), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Woody, southwest, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Jewett Formation of California.
