Taxonomy
Phocaenopsis scheynensis was named by Du Bus (1872). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Anvers, which is in a Miocene/Pliocene marine horizon in Belgium.

It was recombined as Acrodelphis scheynensis by Abel (1905); it was considered a nomen dubium by Fordyce and de Muizon (2001).
