Doratodon carcharidens
Taxonomy
Crocodilus carcharidens was named by Bunzel (1871). Its type specimen is IPUW 2349/57, a mandible (almost complete mandible with teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Muthmannsdorf, which is in a Campanian estuary/bay coal/sandstone in the Grünbach Formation of Austria. It is the type species of Doratodon.
It was recombined as Doratodon carcharidens by Seeley (1881), Sauvage (1882), Company et al. (2005).
