Perameles wilkinsonorum was named by Travouillon et al. (2017). Its type specimen is QM F30581, a mandible (partial left dentary with broken m2, m3, and broken m4), and it is a 3D body fossil.

It differs from all species of Perameles except P. nasuta in having the postmetaconulecrista ending on the posterior flank of the metacone on M3. |
