Metaxytherium riveroi
Taxonomy
Metaxytherium riveroi was named by Varona (1972). Its type specimen is DPUH 1255, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is San Antonio de Cabezas, which is in a Miocene marine horizon in the Guines Formation of Cuba.
It was synonymized subjectively with Metaxytherium crataegense by Domning (1996).
