Solenotryma was named by Foreman (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: J Bajo-u K Maes-u Sepkoski's reference number: ZR70]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Eucyrtidiidae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Nassellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
