Teutonophon sinensis

Taxonomy
Pseudopharkidonotus sinensis was named by Pan and Cook (2003). Its type specimen is NIGP 132219, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is 20 km southeast of Ejina Qi, Badain Jaran Desert, which is in an Emsian carbonate limestone in the Zhusileng Formation of China. It is the type species of Pseudopharkidonotus.

It was recombined as Teutonophon sinensis by Wagner (2023).

H.Z. Pan and A. G. Cook 2003Medium sized cyrtomphalus bellerophontid with fine growth lines and rugae that are raised on the whorl shoulder becoming coarse collabral ridges.
Description. Medium sized, globose, isostrophic, cryptomphalous bellerophontid, with umbilicus covered by secondary shell growth from flared aperture. Selenizone on prominent raised carina with deep concave lunulae. Whorl expansion rate only moderate with exception of carina with a well-developed shoulder. Ornament consists of fine, numerous growth lines and thicker rugations which locally form raised undulations that coalesce to form elongate node-like structures on the shoulder of the whorl face. A partietal inductura is well developed.
