ReferenceDiagnosis
O. Mateus and M. T. Antunes 2001Camptosauridae with the followmg features: Maxillay teeth with strong primary ridge with five tertiary ridges at the mesial side. The enamel on the labial surface of the tooth crown is lower distally than mesially. Manual ungual phalanges higher than broad. Tibial condyle of femur without lateral projection into the flexor groove. Flbular condyle of femur shortly proJected, being shorter anteroposterlorly than wide medlolaterally. Tibial condyle of femur slightly proJected posteromedlally and concave on its medlal side. Short cnemial crest on tibia. Astragalus fused to calcaneum. Distal tarsal II present. Lateral distal tarsal overlaps the medial distal tarsal. Metatarsal V absent.
F. M. Rotatori et al. 2022Styracosternan iguanodontian distinguished from other basal iguanodontians by the following combination of characters: unfused and non-interlocked carpus; absence of a sharp crest running from the medial condyle of the femur towards of the lesser trochanter, fully open U-shaped extensor groove on distal epiphysis of the femur; fully open V-shaped flexor groove without overhangs on distal epiphysis of the femur; concave medial margin of proximal epiphysis of the tibia; caudally pointing fibular condyle of the tibia; and a splint-like metatarsal I.
