Taxonomy
Plethospira extensa was named by Heller (1954). Its type locality is MR-27. Northeast side of Johnyy Hollow, ½ mile west, 0.15 mil S of Berea Church, which is in a Migneintian carbonate limestone in the Roubidoux Formation of Missouri.
