Taxonomy
Ivanovia was named by Khvorova (1946) [Type species Ivanovia tenuissima]. It is not extant. Its type is Ivanovia tenuissima.

It was assigned to Rhodophyta by Khvorova (1946); and to Codiaceae by Torres (2003).
