Anasazisaurus was named by Hunt and Lucas (1993).
It was synonymized subjectively with Kritosaurus by Williamson (2000), Lehman (2001), Prieto-Márquez et al. (2006), Godefroit et al. (2008), Prieto-Márquez (2010).
It was assigned to Hadrosauridae by Hunt and Lucas (1993), Ryan (1997); and to Hadrosaurinae by Horner et al. (2004), Lucas et al. (2006), Kirkland et al. (2006), Sullivan and Lucas (2014), Jasinski (2015).
It was synonymized subjectively with Kritosaurus by Williamson (2000), Lehman (2001), Prieto-Márquez et al. (2006), Godefroit et al. (2008), Prieto-Márquez (2010).
It was assigned to Hadrosauridae by Hunt and Lucas (1993), Ryan (1997); and to Hadrosaurinae by Horner et al. (2004), Lucas et al. (2006), Kirkland et al. (2006), Sullivan and Lucas (2014), Jasinski (2015).
