| S. M. Kurzanov 1976 | Small predatory dinosaurs. Basipterygoid processes large, triangular, with an oval depression on the side. Spheno-occipital tubercles broad and massive, Carotid canals merging in front and opening into the hypophysial fossa as a single orifice. Brain cavity short, high in the region of the cerebellum by virtue of the deveopment of the parietal body. Immediately above the vestibule of the membranous labyrinth there is a deep bony recess surrounded along the perimeter by the anterior semicircular canal and the crus communis. The orifice of the endolymphatic duct is located on the lateral margin of the occipital foramen. The opening of the trigeminal nerve is unified externally and internally. The jugular orifice is located directly beneath the vestibular cavity. The middle cerebral vein enters and leaves the neurocranium through special openings. The floor of the brain cavity is hravily concave. |
