Taxonomy
Lyonsia venturaensis was named by Clark and Woodford (1927). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP loc. 7000, Santa Susana Mountains, which is in a Ypresian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Santa Susana Formation of California.
