Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
F. E. Novas et al. 2004Autapomorphies diagnosing Talenkauen santacrucensis include: well–developed epipophysis on cervical 3, and plate–like uncinate processes on the rib cage. The following reversals emerge from the cladistic analysis: lacrimal and premaxilla not in contact, and dentaries convergent rostrally.
R. J. Butler et al. 2008Well-developed epipophyses on cervical 3 and plate-like uncinate processes on the rib-cage.
S. Rozadilla et al. 2019Ornithopod dinosaur diagnosed by the following autapomorphies: (1) premaxilla with a sigmoidal anterior edge; (2) maxilla with a transversely expanded anterior process; (3) predentary that posteriorly diverges in two very thin and elongated dorsal processes; (4) narrow V-shaped predentary in dorsal view; (5) surangular with strongly developed lateral process; (6) axis with low neural spine (Cambiaso 2007); (7) cervical vertebral centra strongly laterally excavated and transversely narrow; (8) ilium with an ischiadic peduncle that is strongly ventrally projected, showing a deeply concave posterior edge; (9) robust metatarsals.
