Becklespinax altispinax

Taxonomy
Acrocanthosaurus altispinax was named by Paul (1988). It is not extant. Its type specimen is BMNH R.1828. Its type locality is Battle, Hastings (Hastings Beds), which is in a Berriasian/Valanginian marine claystone in the Hastings Beds Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Becklespinax altispinax by Olshevsky (1991), Olshevsky (1992), Vickaryous and Ryan (1997), Holtz et al. (2004), Naish and Martill (2007), Carrano et al. (2012); it was recombined as Altispinax altispinax by Ruiz-Omeñaca and Canudo (2003); it was synonymized objectively with Altispinax dunkeri by Maisch (2016).
