Taxonomy
Straparollus circinatus was named by Fenton and Fenton (1924). Its type locality is Hackerberry Grove, south bank of Winnabago River, which is in a Frasnian carbonate carbonate in the Lime Creek Formation of Iowa.
It was recombined as Orecopia circinatus by Wagner (2023).
