Taxonomy
Orospira elegantula was named by Cullison (1944). Its type locality is M. S. M. 106.11. On the Isabella-Hammond road, 1 mile north of Isabella, which is in a Cassinian carbonate limestone/chert in the Theodosia Formation of Missouri.
