It was assigned to Brachyrhyncha by Rathbun (1918), Rathbun (1926) and Kesling (1958); to Brachyura by Casadio et al. (2005); to Eubrachyura by Ahyong et al. (2007); and to Ocypodoidea by Feldmann and Keys (1992), Karasawa (1993), Garassino et al. (2010), Schweitzer et al. (2010) and Luque et al. (2017).
