Eobalaenoptera harrisoni
Taxonomy
Eobalaenoptera harrisoni was named by Dooley et al. (2004). Its type specimen is VMNH 742, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Carmel Church Quarry, which is in a Serravallian estuary/bay conglomerate/claystone in the Calvert Formation of Virginia. It is the type species of Eobalaenoptera.
