Taxonomy
Argyrocetus joaquinensis was named by Kellogg (1932). Its type specimen is USNM 11996, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pyramid Hill, west, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Vedder Formation of California.
