Taxonomy
Pelagiella (Parapelagiella) was named by Kobayashi (1939). Its type is Pelagiella hinomotoensis.

It was synonymized subjectively with Pelagiella by Knight et al. (1960); it was reranked as Parapelagiella by Wagner (2023).

It was assigned to Pelagiella by Kobayashi (1939); and to Helcionellidae by Wagner (2023).
