Taxonomy
Baylea trifibra was named by Rollins (1975). It is not extant. Its type locality is Chert Bed #2, South bank of English River, 1 mile north of Daytonville., which is in a Kinderhookian carbonate limestone/chert in the Wassonville Formation of Iowa.
