Calaurops lituiformis
Taxonomy
Calaurops lituiformis was named by Whitfield (1886). Its type specimen is AMNH 470/1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fort Cassin, Lake Champlain, which is in a Cassinian deep subtidal shelf lime mudstone in the Fort Cassin Formation of Vermont.
It was recombined as Eccyliomphalus lituiformis by Ulrich and Scofield (1897).
