Taxonomy
Chancelloria was named by Walcott (1920) [Sepkoski's age data: ]. Its type is Chancelloria eros. It is the type genus of Chancelloriidae.
It was assigned to Chancelloridae by Henningsmoen (1952); to Problematica by Duan (1984); to Chancelloriida by Sepkoski (2002); to Metazoa by Bambach et al. (2007); and to Chancelloriidae by Brock and Cooper (1993), Landing and Bartowski (1996), Parkhaev and Demidenko (2010), Kouchinsky et al. (2011) and Kouchinsky et al. (2017).
It was assigned to Chancelloridae by Henningsmoen (1952); to Problematica by Duan (1984); to Chancelloriida by Sepkoski (2002); to Metazoa by Bambach et al.
