Murchisonia (Mesocoelia) discrepans was named by Perner (1907) [Barrande in Perner 1907]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lochkov, which is in a Pridoli carbonate limestone in the Pozáry Formation of the Czech Republic.
It was recombined as Mesocoelia discrepans by Wagner (2023).
